A to Z Song Challenge: I is for I Want You

Okay, so “I” was giving me fits.  There were so many songs, it was hard to narrow them down.

I mean, there’s I Need Love by LL Cool J (I remember that was the first rap song I knew all the words to), Inside My Love by Minnie Riperton (one of my all-time favorites), In The Air Tonight by Phil Collins, Imagination by Earth, Wind & Fire (old school favorite), In a Sentimental Mood by Duke Ellington (love it!), I Tried by Anthony Hamilton (big fan of his), I like it, by DeBarge (so many memories), I Can’t Help It by Michael Jackson (Off the Wall album was THE best)… really, I could go on.

In the end I chose a classic.  It was originally made my Marvin Gaye.  I rarely like when my songs are remade, but I absolutely LOVE a version done by Kirk Whalum, so I’m including both of them for your listening pleasure.  So…….

Hope you enjoy!

A to Z Song Challenge: G is for Golden Time of Day

I really don’t think I need words for Maze featuring Frankie Beverly.  Okay, here’s two—awesome band.  One of THE best bands I’ve ever heard.

This is one of my favs.  It reminds me of summertime and cruising.

A to Z Song Challenge: F is for Find Your Way

“Said I’m leaving, have I made myself clear.  Every time I find someone, I find myself here.”
Funny story.  My son was very young when I heard this song for the first time.  But I’ve always listened  to music while cleaning, while driving, while doing most things.  This was the first song he ever learned. LOL
Even now, he calls it OUR song.

A to Z Song Challenge: E is for Ex Factor

I’m sure you can think back to that first love—the one that broke your heart.  The one that left you with so many scars.  Well, no one sings about that like Lauryn Hill.
It was all so simple
But you’d rather make it hard
Loving you is like a battle
And we both end up with scars
And here it is…

A to Z Song Challenge: D is for Dangerously in Love 2

Okay, so I’m not one to hop on a music bandwagon.  In fact, when I like a newer song, it’s usually months after it was released and played out by radio stations.  BUT I like Beyonce.  I’m not her greatest fan, but I enjoy her music.  So…..

I have to say that this song has inspired many scenes.  I write with song and I write romance.  What better inspiration than a song that says “You’re my relation, In connection to the Sun.  With you next to me, there’s no darkness I can’t overcome.  You are my raindrop, I am the seed.  With you and God, who’s my sunlight, I bloom and grow so beautifully.”  Talk about a true love!   Phew.  That’s romance right there.  And that’s why I had to include this song in my favorites.  Enjoy!
