A to Z Song Challenge: O is for Overjoyed

Stevie Wonder.  There are so many songs I could've included on this countdown that were either done by Stevie Wonder or influenced by him.  Just to name a few of his jams... Master Blaster, As, Rocket Love, That Girl, Superstitious, All I Do... I could go on and on.

But this song is the one that sticks out to me.  The music is lovely and the words are... awesome.

And though the odds say improbable
What do they know
For in romance
All true love needs a chance
And maybe with a chance you will find
You too like I
Overjoyed, over loved, over you...

A to Z Song Challenge: N is for Nothing Else

It was hard.  All the way up until just now, I was going back and forth on which song to pick.  It was between this one and No Rhyme No Reason by George Duke.  And really, picking this song does mean I like it better.  They both are favs of mine.  In the end, I went with the artist that was better looking. LOL  (I know...how superficial of me)

So since I LOVE me some JT (he's a definite hottie)...

And just for good measure...  BOOM!

A to Z Song Challenge: M is for My Testimony

So glad I made it,
I made it through
In spite of the storm and rain, heartache and pain
Still, I'm declaring
That I made it through
See, I didn't lose
Experience lost at a major cost
But I never lost faith in You
So if you see me cry,
It's just a sign that I'm
I'm still alive
I got some scars, but I'm still alive
In spite of calamity
He still has a plan for me
And it's working for my good
And it's building my testimony

When my mother died, my hubby made a movie of her life in pictures.  This song was playing in the background.  Now, when I hear this song, I always think of her.  I can't listen to it without tearing up.  Not just because of her, but the words are so profound.  We all have scars, things that happen to us, but we make it through.  Everyone has a story.  Everyone has a testimony.

Although there were many songs for "M" that are on my list, this one has touched me the most.  Hope you enjoy!

A to Z Song Challenge: L is for Lady in my Life

Michael Jackson.  I think I was 10-years-old when I decided that my favorite aunt would marry Michael Jackson.  Yes, I was one who had the perfect poster of him in the bright yellow vest plastered on my wall.  I was completely and utterly in love with him.  In fact, when he sang "Say Say Say" with Paul McCartney I just knew he was talking about me.  You know that line, "And I love you endlessly"?  I thought he said, "And I love you AND Leslie!"  LOL

It is only fitting that he is somewhere on this list.  Although I could find a song by him that love in every letter, I chose this one.  It is ONE of my favorites of all time, by any artist.  It's a bonus that it's MJ.

So....

A to Z Song Challenge: K is for Kiss of Life

There must have been an angel by my side

Something Heavenly led me to you

Look at the sky, it’s the color of love

There must have been an angel by my side

Something Heavenly came down from above

He led me to you

This is a love song that truly inspires me.  It makes me smile just to hear it.  The music and the words are what we all hope for when we think of falling in love with that special person.  We all look for that one person who gives us the kiss of life.

A to Z Song Challenge: J is for Just Fine

I was freshman in college when Mary J. Blige entered the scene with her “What’s the 411?” album.  I was an instant fan.  Her songs seemed to bring out many emotions.  In fact, many of her tunes could be on this countdown, but I chose one of the more upbeat ones.

“I won’t change my life, my life is just fine.”  It felt good, as a fan, to hear her belt out those lyrics.
